Billing
CuliPulse plans are billed monthly. You can see your plan and payment details under Billing in the app.
Upgrading
Section titled “Upgrading”- Go to Plans and pick the plan you want.
- Click Upgrade. Today this opens an email to our team, who’ll set your new plan up for you. Paying by card at a checkout page is being rolled out; once it’s switched on, the same button opens that checkout instead.
- Once your new plan is active, your new limits apply immediately — there’s nothing else to do.
Your new limits include how often checks run, how many monitors you can have, and how long history is kept.
Changing your plan or cancelling
Section titled “Changing your plan or cancelling”Once you’re paying by card, you don’t need to email us to make changes. Go to Billing and click Manage billing — or, on the Plans page, the button next to your plan now says Change plan. Either one takes you to a secure page hosted by Polar, our payment provider, where you can:
- Switch to a different plan
- Update your card
- Cancel
- Download past invoices
CuliPulse never sees or stores your card details — all of that lives with Polar.
Cancelling doesn’t cut you off right away. You keep your current plan for the rest of the period you’ve already paid for. Once that period ends, your account moves to the Free plan automatically — nothing to do on your end, and no extra charge.
Who we bill through
Section titled “Who we bill through”When you pay by card, payments are handled by Polar, which acts as the merchant of record. That means Polar appears on your card statement and issues your invoice, and any sales tax or VAT is handled for you. CuliPulse never sees or stores your card details.
Complimentary plans
Section titled “Complimentary plans”Some accounts are on a complimentary plan — a paid tier at no charge. If that’s you, your Billing page says so, and there’s nothing to pay and nothing to set up. Your plan doesn’t expire, and none of the below applies to you.
If a payment fails
Section titled “If a payment fails”We never switch off a monitor because of a billing problem. Your monitors keep running and you keep getting alerts — monitoring you’re relying on won’t disappear without warning.
If a payment doesn’t go through, you’ll see a banner in the app letting you know, and you’ll have 14 days (this window can occasionally be adjusted) to update your card — from the banner itself, or from Billing → Manage billing — before anything about your plan changes.
If your plan lapses
Section titled “If your plan lapses”If the 14 days pass with no payment, your account moves to the Free plan. Only two things follow from that, and nothing else:
- Adding new monitors is limited to what the Free plan allows.
- Any monitor checking more often than the Free plan allows is slowed down to Free’s fastest allowed check.
No monitor is ever deleted or paused, for any billing reason. Everything you’ve already set up keeps running and keeps alerting you. CuliPulse is a monitoring tool — turning off your alerts when you might need them most, during a real outage, is something we won’t do.
Behind the scenes, we also check every account against our payment provider’s records once a day. If that check finds you’re entitled to more than your account currently shows — your plan, or a payment that went through after a failed one — it puts that right automatically, so a missed message between the two systems can’t leave you short or start a countdown you’ve already settled.
